6th September:  SRFC vs Hong Kong Football Club Vandals:

We were delighted to welcome the touring side of the HKFC to Shanghai on the weekend of September 6th. The HK boys came down in numbers, with around 30 players to enjoy a weekend of rugby and banter. The 15s match was a very physical spectacle of rugby, with a number of big collisions and some great tries. Ultimately the SRFC were victorious to a score line of 45-12, a fantastic result for our boys.
The match was followed by a great evening of celebrations; firstly at the SCSC and afterward at our local watering hole, The Shed.
The match marked the last time we saw Head Coach Mr Angus Peacock lead the black squad to battle. The SRFC would like to thank Angus for his contribution to Rugby in China over the last number of years, and great help in driving the Club to become what it is today.
The fixture was such a success that we have now, thanks to the very generous sponsorship of Links (http://linksmoving.asia/), confirmed a yearly return fixture. The Interport Cup will be a yearly home and way match between the SRFC and the HKFC Vandals. The HK leg of the Interport cup will take place on November 15th 2015.

27th September: SRFC @ Hangzhou Sino Tens League

The SRFC sent a team down to compete in the Hangzhou leg of the Sino Tens League.
In total 16 gentlemen travelled, with more than half of the players being new to the club. Captained by Simon Baker, the guys enjoyed a good day both on and off the pitch; beating Suzhou & Wuhan comfortably in the first and final match and losing narrowly to Nanjing 12-7 in the second match.
The team atmosphere was excellent and the day provided a great start to some new players in their China rugby careers.

22nd November: SRFC Vs BJ Devils

The SRFC welcome the Beijing Devils to the SCSC on Saturday November 22nd. With the HKFC match to aid in preparations, we are confident that the tables will turn this year and see a victory for our Black squad.
We hope to see you all out in the SCSC to cheer on our boys in black. Kick-Off is set for 2pm and as usual we will have a refreshment tent pitch side for you to get a front row seat for the action (along with a cold beverage or two!)

Upcoming Social Events:

Firstly, on the 11th of October we will be hosting a rugby party up at our ever faithful 390 so bring your rugby gear and good vibes over to 390 at 9:00pm. We will basically be there to look pretty and hand out free shots around the place, so would be great if everyone was there to join. The funding from this will be going towards getting our lovely ladies over to Xiamen women's tour and the handsome lads over to Hong Kong tournament later on the date.

On the 12th of October there will be a Shanghai Running Event 5 kilometre, 10 kilometre and a half marathon available to everyone. Entrance fee for the event will be 150RMB per person. This would be a great team building experience for both guys and girls in the rugby club. So don't forget and it will surely be a great time.
